Job summary

Daisy Brand is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design, develop, and improve packaging solutions for food products, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance across the supply chain.

The role involves material selection, qualifications, testing, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize packaging performance. The hybrid schedule requires onsite presence部分 Mon, Tue, Thu with Wed-Fri remote; location is Dallas, TX, with a future Plano move planned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 1-5 years experience in packaging engineering, materials science, or related roles, with focus on food manufacturing.
• Experience with food-grade packaging materials and shelf-life extension techniques.
• Dairy manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative packaging solutions for new and existing food products, considering material performance, cost, regulatory compliance, and sustainability.
• Perform packaging material qualifications evaluating supplier capability, receiving, warehousing, equipment interaction, shipping, customer handling, and consumer interaction.
• Lead continuous improvement projects with plant production teams and suppliers to enhance packaging performance and efficiency.
• Provide technical support to troubleshoot packaging-related issues in production, warehousing, and distribution.
• Collaborate with suppliers to improve quality, test materials, and ensure alignment with product and plant requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend packaging materials to ensure product safety, shelf life, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with operations, quality, procurement, and marketing to integrate packaging requirements into product development.
• Identify cost-effective packaging options and contingencies without compromising safety.
• Ensure packaging designs meet labeling and environmental regulations.
• Lead sustainability initiatives for eco-friendly or recyclable packaging.
