Responsibilities

• Knowledge of quantity food production, sanitation, safety practices, and procedures related to food preparation, serving, and transportation
• Supervise the use of commercial food service equipment
• Use computer systems to communicate, access information, and place orders
• Estimate quantities needed and order appropriate amounts for cost-effective food service
• Assist in requisitioning, receiving, and storing foods and supplies
• Prepare, cook, and bake a variety of foods in large quantities
• Lift moderately heavy items and stand for extended periods
• Supervise kitchen operations
• Maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues and contacts
• Ensure proper care of equipment and sanitation of the kitchen
• Assist in inventory management and record keeping

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in food management
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
• Two years of experience preparing and serving large quantities of food
• High school diploma or GED
• ServSafe Manager Certification
