Job summary

The Laboratory Analyst role focuses on executing approved microbiological analyses, maintaining QA standards, and supporting cross-functional teams to ensure accurate results and compliance with industry guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a commercial food-testing or analytical laboratory.
• Working knowledge of aseptic sampling, automated lab equipment, and standard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical and microbiological testing of food products and environments.
• Prepare and analyze samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries.
• Apply aseptic/microbiological techniques in daily workload.
• Maintain inventory and communicate supplies needed for testing.
• Ensure routine preventive maintenance and quality control of equipment.
• Support QA duties including incubator temperatures and controls.
• Pursue procedures per FSNS policies and customer requirements.
• Stay current with food industry issues through journals and workshops.
• Ensure work is neat, safe, and efficient; share information openly.
• Assist in prioritizing tasks to meet team goals; participate in Food Safety Net Services team.
