Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a production associate to join our sugar packaging team in Michigan. The role involves handling bulk sugar, verifying loads, and operating filling systems to meet strict quality specifications.

You will document results, perform basic machine adjustments, and participate in cross-training for milling and packaging. A high school diploma is preferred and forklift training is advantageous. The position may require weekend overtime and shift flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Load and verify liquid sugar co-products using trailers and railcars.
  • Operate sugar tote-filling system from setup to final checks.
  • Complete required quality checks and record results with the team lead.
  • Follow safe work practices and keep the area audit-ready.

In this hands-on role, you’ll blend quality, safety, and logistics to ensure dry and liquid sweeteners are packaged, documented, and shipped correctly—meeting regulatory, SQF, and GMP expectations.What You’ll TackleAccurately fill and measure bulk sugar in trailers and railcars—meeting customer specs every time.Load and verify liquid sugar co-products using trailers and railcars.Run the sugar tote-filling system from setup through final checks.Complete required quality checks; record results and resolve issues with your team lead.Use computers daily for documentation and make minor programming adjustments at the machine when directed.Cross-train to operate the powdered sugar mill and consistently meet quality targets.Follow safe work practices and keep the area clean, compliant, and audit-ready.Pitch in on additional duties as production needs change.Must-HavesProduction/manufacturing experience preferred.Basic computer proficiency; comfortable learning HMI/program changes.Knowledge of—or ability to adopt and promote—SQF and GMP requirements; prior quality systems experience preferred.Fork-truck training readiness and ability to maintain a valid fork truck license; willing to drive as needed.Open to any shift; available for weekend overtime.Physically able to climb stairs/ladders, use catwalks, bend, and lift.High school diploma preferred.How You’ll Succeed HereCommunicate early and often with teammates and the team leader.Adapt quickly to a fast-paced, changing production schedule.Own decisions and troubleshoot confidently.Bring initiative and a positive attitude from start to finish.Maintain sharp attention to detail—weights, measures, labels, and records.Reality of the WorkRepetitive lifting/carrying of 40–50 lbs.Anything over 50 lbs is lifted with a partner or a mechanical device.Growth & TeamWe value cross-training and problem-solving.
