Built in the 1920s, The Joule is a neo-Gothic landmark at 1530 Main Street, originally the Dallas National Bank. It has transformed from a historic bank building into a Forbes four-star boutique hotel, becoming a cultural, shopping, and dining destination in downtown Dallas.

Position Overview

The Food Expeditor serves patrons by setting tables, placing and replacing silverware, keeping beverage glasses full, and adhering to sanitation and safety policies. The role involves clearing and cleaning tables, chairs, and the environment.

Responsibilities

1. Greet and acknowledge team members and guests warmly and professionally.
2. Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and organization at the expo station and surrounding areas.
3. Stock condiments, sauces, utensils, and expo tools throughout the shift.
4. Replenish coffee, tea, and water service areas.
5. Know menu pricing, item locations, and current specials.
6. Understand menu preparation, verify modifications, requests, and allergies before food leaves the pass.
7. Operate expo and line equipment safely and efficiently.
8. Organize and prioritize incoming tickets, coordinate multiple orders, and ensure proper presentation and delivery of plates.
9. Act as the communication link between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
10. Stay calm and decisive during high-volume periods to maintain efficiency.
11. Perform final quality checks on plates for presentation, temperature, and accuracy.
12. Support teamwork by anticipating needs of kitchen and service staff.
13. Multitask effectively while ensuring accuracy, speed, and guest satisfaction.
