Job summary

Eurofins USA Food Testing in Madison, WI is seeking a supervisor to lead scientific and operational staff in method development/validation and sample analysis. You will ensure data review and compliance with SOPs and ISO/IEC 17025:2005, while managing resources and training staff.

The role requires a BS/BA in science, 2+ years related experience and at least 1 year in leadership, with strong regulatory knowledge and problem-solving abilities to support a growing lab portfolio.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Science, or equivalent degree.
• 2+ years related experience and 1+ years leadership experience.
• Knowledge of appropriate regulatory agency guidelines.
• Working knowledge of laboratory operations and an understanding of the technical aspects of the laboratory and/or computers and computer software systems.
• Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to learn new tasks
• Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and efficiently
• Reside within a commutable distance to Madison, WI lab

Responsibilities

• Supervise the activities of scientific and operational staff responsible for method development/validation projects and analysis of samples.
• Responsible for analytical data review, data management, and table generation as applicable.
• All activities are conducted in compliance with SOPs, regulatory guidelines and ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility
• May assume Site Operations duties in the absence of the Site Operations Head
• Schedules staff and assigns resources
• Identifies resource needs and coordinates installation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and space
• Prepares technical reports for clients
• Reviews cost estimates and provides revenue/forecast information
• Ensures staff compliance to SOPs and guidelines
• Develops training plans and ensures staff are trained
• Develops expertise in operation and maintenance of equipment/software
• Performs general HR responsibilities including recruitment and evaluations
• Identifies process improvements and implements actions
• May act as front line contact for clients
• Maintains a clean and safe laboratory environment
• Conducts activities in a safe and efficient manner
