The Food & Beverage (F&B) Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations and service functions of their assigned area, including Millcreek Grille, Casino Bars, Food Hall, and Service Wells. This role supports all Food and Beverage operations, events, and functions as assigned. Responsibilities include supervising team leaders, sous chefs, and team members, supporting service initiatives, and ensuring guest satisfaction and service quality.
Essential Functions
- Manage daily operations according to company policies, regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all venue and outlet positions.
- Ensure assigned area meets cleanliness, atmosphere, service, and sales standards.
- Complete administrative duties such as sales tracking, payroll, inventories, and P&L analysis.
- Train and develop team members on-the-job.
- Contribute to quarterly action plans with senior leadership.
- Lead by example to boost team morale and deliver exceptional guest service.
- Build professional relationships with guests and encourage team members to do the same.
- Manage scheduling to ensure high service standards and labor efficiency.
- Maintain cash handling policies and ensure audit compliance.
- Create promotional programs to increase revenue.
- Recognize top performers and provide coaching and performance feedback.
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, and training processes.
- Enforce Standard Operating Procedures and responsible alcohol service.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate property updates.
- Assist with expense control and cost tracking reports.
- Participate in P&L reviews and understand their impact on operations.
- Coordinate with other departments and maintain operational standards.
- Inspect service areas for quality, inventory, equipment, cleanliness, and compliance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., and respond to visual and auditory cues.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic administrative functions.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Fluent in English, with strong report writing and communication skills.
Education and Experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Two-year degree in related fields preferred.
- 1-3 years supervisory experience in similar operations preferred.
- Experience with POS systems and cash transactions.
Certifications
- OLC Non-Gaming License required.
