Job summary

Avam Sciences is seeking a Business Development Representative for Food & Beverage to introduce Avam’s testing portfolio to manufacturers, co-packers, contract manufacturers, and third-party labs in the United States. You will own prospecting and early qualification while partnering with the Account Executive responsible for proposals and closing.

The role focuses on three application areas: pathogen detection, spoilage-organism monitoring, and quality-control testing.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales development, inside sales, business development, or customer-facing work.
• Candidates with food science, microbiology, laboratory, or quality-control experience encouraged to apply.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to research organizations and tailor outreach.
• Comfort initiating conversations with new people and handling outbound outreach.

Responsibilities

• Identify target accounts in food & beverage manufacturing, co-packers, contract manufacturers, and third-party labs.
• Find relevant decision-makers (food safety leaders, QA/QC managers, lab directors, microbiologists).
• Execute personalized outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels.
• Qualify prospects based on application fit, testing needs, and purchasing processes.
• Coordinate handoffs to Account Executive with account research and notes.
• Maintain CRM records and next steps; follow up on inbound inquiries.
