Holiday Inn KCI Airport/Atwell Suites KCI is seeking a Food & Beverage Manager to lead daily kitchen and front-of-house operations, ensuring guests enjoy a top-notch dining experience at Burger Theory.

You will oversee service, staff training, scheduling, and cost reporting, while driving revenue and maintaining brand standards in a busy hotel setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience minimum in a Restaurant/Kitchen Management role required.
• Hands-on role; able to jump in, take initiative, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal communication skills are required.
• Must speak English fluently and be able to write in Basic English.
• Food Handlers Card or ability to obtain one
• ServerSafe Card or ability to obtain one
• Must have a high level of stamina to work on feet for extended periods.
• Must be able to frequently lift/carry objects up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Overview: The Food & Beverage Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing both the daily kitchen operations and the front of the house operations to ensure all guests have a great drinking and dining experience with Holiday Inn KCI in our casual dining establishment, Burger Theory!

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage service aspects in all food and beverage assigned areas and events.
• Ensure customers receive a great dining experience by acknowledging, greeting, and thanking all guests; resolve situations involving unhappy customers using de-escalation tactics.
• Understand and respond to customer’s needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
• Confirm that all service staff are in proper uniform and adhere to the Hotel's appearance standards each shift.
• Ensure all franchise-required training is completed for all new F&B staff within the required time frame, and validate training via written and oral testing.
• Oversee the hiring, management, and training of restaurant staff in accordance with Hotel's standards of quality and service.
• Create, maintain, and distribute weekly staff schedules; communicate changes as necessary.
• Perform “cost-out” reporting of all schedules, comparing \"plan\" to \"actual\".
• Perform weekly F&B revenue reporting, comparing “plan” to “actual”.
• Conduct pre-shift, pre-meal, and/or pre-event meetings with all necessary staff members; ensure consistent communication within the department.
• Create marketing/promotional plans and activities to drive top-line revenue for the F&B operations.
• Create and report the “cost-out” of all menus for restaurant and banquet areas, revise quarterly or as needed, and ensure budgeted costs are realistic and attainable.
• Evaluate and supervise staff performance; carry out disciplinary action as needed per the Human Resources Department.
• Monitor inventory of kitchen products and supplies; prepare and place weekly food and beverage product orders.
• Other duties as assigned.
