Food & Nutritional Services Coordinator
Key responsibilities include communication across departments, managing food services, ensuring dietary compliance, scheduling staff, and maintaining safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between nursing units, Food & Nutrition Services, and other departments to provide patient services.
- Provide patient care for neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics based on nutritional criteria.
- Maintain meal tallies and create staff schedules based on patient census.
- Respond to changes in diet orders, tube feedings, and other requirements to ensure efficient timing and accuracy.
- Unload and organize vendor stock as needed.
- Ensure compliance with diet restrictions for optimal patient care.
- Adhere to Food & Nutrition Services policies and procedures.
- Supervise, orient, and mentor food service staff.
- Follow standard precautions with personal protective equipment.
- Fill in for other positions when necessary.
- Perform cash handling, safety audits, and HACCP temperature checks.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma required.
- Experience:
- Two years in a supervisory role.
- Two years as a cook, menu planner, or in patient dietary services within a healthcare setting.
- Certifications & Skills:
- Dietary Manager certification preferred.
- ServSafe certification required within 3 months of hire and recertified every 3 years.
- Knowledge of modified dietary requirements and basic nutrition principles.
- Knowledge of HACCP, ServSafe, and food safety practices.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
