Job summary

Commonwealth Hotels seeks a Restaurant Supervisor for the FIRE Restaurant at The ART Hotel in Downtown Denver. You will oversee daily service, ensure guest satisfaction, and lead a team in a fast-paced, art-forward setting with unique menu and beverage pairings.

The role emphasizes staff training, inventory control, and cross-department collaboration to support conferences and events. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong English communication and guest relations skills.
  • Ability to lead and train restaurant staff.
  • Knowledge of food and wine pairing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising Daily Operations: Overseeing the restaurant's service flow, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Guest Experience & Service: Ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction by addressing concerns, managing special requests, and maintaining The Art Hotel’s service standards.
  • Team Leadership & Training: Assisting with hiring, training, and mentoring restaurant staff, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring team members follow company policies and procedures.
  • Inventory & Supplies Management: Monitoring stock levels, placing orders for food, beverages, and supplies, and ensuring proper storage and usage to minimize waste.
  • Ensuring Compliance: Adhering to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as company policies and industry standards.
  • Handling Financial Transactions: Assisting with cash handling, reconciling daily sales, and supporting budgeting and cost control efforts.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Working closely with kitchen staff, hotel management, and event teams to coordinate food service, especially for conferences and special events.

What We are Looking for in a Restaurant Supervisor includes:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in English and interact well against guests and staff.
  • Personality and Disposition: Self-starting personality with an even temperament, always maintaining a professional appearance and manner.
  • Teamwork: Willingness to pitch in and assign co-workers, promoting a team-oriented work environment.
  • Supervisory Skills: Ability to apply basic supervisory skills, including planning, organising, and coaching seeking host for employees when necessary.
  • Culinary Expertise: Con knowledge of food and wine pairing is highly sought after, contributing to an elevated guest experience.
