Job summary

The Sebastian Vail is seeking a dynamic professional to oversee food and beverage operations at its luxury property in Vail, CO. You will lead a diverse team across dining outlets, banquets, and events to deliver exceptional guest experiences and consistent quality.

Responsibilities include coaching teams, refining procedures, managing labor and inventory, and partnering with leadership to execute memorable dining and events while maintaining strict cost controls and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading food and beverage operations in luxury settings.
• Ability to coach front- and back-of-house teams to high performance.
• Strong understanding of hospitality operations, guest service standards, and financials.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, inventory, and cost controls.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service.

In this role, you will lead a team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency, and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations across dining outlets, banquet services, and special events.

• Oversee daily food and beverage operations to ensure excellent guest service, quality, and consistency.
• Lead, coach, and support front-of-house and back-of-house teams to promote a positive, high-performance culture.
• Develop and implement operational procedures that support efficiency, service excellence, and compliance with brand standards.
• Monitor staffing levels, scheduling, and labor performance to meet business needs and budget goals.
• Partner with culinary, banquet, and hotel leadership to execute memorable dining and event experiences.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and cost controls to support financial performance and minimize waste.
• Review guest feedback and service metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards are consistently followed.
• Support menu planning, promotions, and special event execution as needed.
• Maintain strong communication with vendors, internal teams, and leadership to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food and beverage management, ideally within a hotel, resort, or upscale hospitality environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple service areas simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of hospitality operations, guest service standards, and financial management principles.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, inventory management, and cost control.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and responsible alcohol service requirements.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with scheduling, point-of-sale, and operational systems preferred.
