Job summary

The Lodge at Blue Sky, Auberge Collection in Park City, Utah, seeks an experienced events professional to manage private dining, yurts and luxury private events from planning through post-event turnover. You will coordinate with group sales, catering and hotel departments to deliver one-of-a-kind guest experiences.

Responsibilities include upselling experiences, menu planning and overseeing banquet service, while liaising with guests throughout pre-event and event phases to ensure flawless

Qualifications

  • Effective upselling skills of products and experiences.
  • Knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, and banquet and event service operations.
  • 1–2 years of experience in event management or related professional area.
  • Previous experience at luxury resorts and/or fine dining is desirable.

  • Responds promptly to guest problems and re-engages guests or staff when needed.
  • Maintains knowledge of property facilities, hours, events, and local points of interest.

Description

Responsible for maintaining all aspects of the event planning in Delphi for assigned private events including private dining and yurt experiences. This Role prepares all event documentation and coordinates with group sales and/or catering sales, hotel departments, and guests to ensure consistent, one-of-a-kind luxury experience throughout private dining pre-event and event.

  • Coordinates and communicates verbally and in writing with guests (internal and external) regarding event details.
  • Acts as liaison between hotel and guest throughout the event process (pre-event and event), making presence and availability known to guests at all times during this process.
  • Oversees his/her guest experiences from file turnover through the post-event phase until turnover back to sales.
  • Proactively identifies operational challenges associated with his/her event and works with the hotel staff and guests to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions.
  • Participates in various meetings as necessary (Banquet Event Order Meeting, Catering Forecast, Resume Meeting, etc…).
  • Completes monthly inventories of all beverage & retail spaces as aligned with property policy.
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Trains and empowers appropriate departments & associates to provide exceptional experiences & services when utilizing Blue Sky's beverage areas and systems.
  • Effectively and promptly responds to guest problems & actively works to re-engage the guest or associate when conflict arises.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of property and other information including the following:
  • All property facilities/services offered and hours of operation
  • Entertainment/special events scheduled on the property and in the area
  • General info, descriptions, and directions for local services, restaurants, skiing, hiking and other points of interests.Be knowledgeable about all guests and groups arriving at The Lodge at Blue Sky.
  • Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned to meet business needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Effective upselling skills of products and experiences.
  • Knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, and banquet and event service operations.
  • Dinner experience preferred.
  • Strong guest development and relationship management skills.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in event management or related professional area.
  • Previous experience at luxury resorts and/or fine dining is desirable.
