Actalent in Kansas City, MO seeks a hands-on Food Analytical Chemist to drive analyses of diverse food matrices using HPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS and ICP-MS. You will apply AOAC, USP and AACC methods, interpret data, and support quality and regulatory compliance in a collaborative lab setting.

The role emphasizes instrument troubleshooting, data integrity, and continuous improvement in a fully onsite laboratory environment with cross-functional team interaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in food or pharma is a plus, open to any background.
• Mass Spectrometry, HPLC and GC are most necessary.
• Hands-on analytical chemistry role in a quality-driven lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation, extraction, digestion and testing on diverse food matrices.
• Operate HPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS and other MS platforms.
• Apply validated methods per AOAC, USP and AACC standards.
• Analyze data and ensure accurate, defensible results.
• Maintain LabSolutions for data acquisition, processing and reporting.
• Troubleshoot methods and instrumentation to improve performance.
• Perform calibration and preventive maintenance of instruments.
• Support lab operations across testing areas and cover for absences.
• Collaborate with Quality, IT, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service teams.
• Maintain organized documentation and ensure quality/compliance.
