Job summary

McCormick's Bindery - A Division of Fox Group is seeking a Folding Operator to manage set-up, running, and clearing of the folder, ensuring efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities include line clearance, material staging, reading job jackets, securing first piece approval, and maintaining production logs per both Fox Group and customer requirements. Experience with folding for binding and PI folds is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3-5 years of experience with signature folding for binding and PI folding.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up, run, and clear the folding operation efficiently while maintaining run rate and quality.
• Stage materials at the machine and ensure first piece approval matches the sample.
• Read job jacket instructions and follow SOPs; complete line clearance logs.
• Obtain supervisor sign-off for first piece approval and perform QA inspections as needed.
• Maintain production logs for Fox Group and customers; ensure proper machine setup and adherence to specified rates.

Scope of Position:

The Folding Operator is responsible for set-up, running, and clearing the folder in the most efficient manner possible while maintaining an established run rate and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Perform line clearance according to standing Standard Operating Procedure’s (SOP’s) and complete all Line Clearance (LC) Logs
• Have all necessary material staged at the machine
• Read and understand job jacket instructions
• Ensure customer sample is at the machine and first piece approval matches the sample
• Obtain sign-off of first piece approval by supervisor
• Perform quality pulls as specified in department SOP
• Complete production logs both for Fox Group and customer if required
• Ensure machine is set up properly and running to specified rate and quality
• Identify non-conforming products and place Quality Assurance (QA) inspect tags on load
• Follow any customer specific requirements for manufacturing, quality, and shipping
• Report any unclear or conflicting information to the department supervisor
• Request labels from shipping and apply to cartons if required
• Perform any other duties as required

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience with signature folding for binding and Pharmaceutical Insert (PI) folding
• Ability to work overtime when needed

Preferred

• Experience operating Vyguk, Heidelberg and Stahl Folder
