Job description

Job Description: Must have experience with folding cartons within the food packaging industry.

Responsibilities
  • Operate Folder/Gluer Machine to develop end-result printed packaging material in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Operate and adjust gluer machine, troubleshoot and monitor operation.
  • Prepare gluer by performing a variety of tasks to produce a consistent, high quality product by precise control of feeding, take over and inverting of batches of blanks, setting automatic loading and maintaining constant blank heights to keep steady and precise feeding at all speeds, making adjustments as needed to exceed customer expectation.
  • Perform a variety of make‑ready tasks utilizing quick and easy settings for high productivity and precision operations, resolving any defects and adjustments to produce high quality product.
  • Oversee general technicians working on equipment.
  • Make adjustments, clear jams while processing product, maintaining speed and quality.
  • Ensure quality of jobs completed by reviewing for accuracy and error‑free results, ensuring finished product exceeds customer expectations, and completing all checklists.
  • Support and communicate all ISO standards and quality objectives to the team.
  • Ensure complete adherence and compliance to OHSE and Clean policies, assist team members in maintaining a clean and safe environment, and follow all company policies and procedures for safety, PPE and hazard materials/waste handling.
  • Follow all PPE procedures at all times and maintain a proper uniform according to company policy.
  • Use company‑provided safety lifting equipment and properly store and arrange work area to maintain cleanliness and safety.
  • Interact with team and co‑workers in a manner that promotes respect, encourages cooperation, and contributes to excellent performance.
  • Communicate accurate information to all team members in a professional and courteous manner that conveys a willingness to assist.
  • Accept direction and feedback from leadership and follow through appropriately.
  • Create and maintain a high‑performance environment characterized by positive leadership and strong team orientation, including communicating regularly with the team toward goals, motivating crew to improve quantity and quality, consistently using established communication channels, conducting team meetings, and performing any additional tasks as required by department or management.
Requirements
  • High School diploma (or GED).
  • Minimum of 3 years of Folder/Gluer equipment operation within the food packaging industry.
  • Experience with Bobst Alpina, Expertfold and/or Heidelburg gluer preferred.
  • Must have interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and mathematical skills necessary to compute percentages, weights and measures.
  • Must be able to perform any and all work or additional tasks as required or requested by Department Leads, Shift Leads, or Management.
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending, or reaching, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing, and speaking.
  • Frequent lifting in excess of 30 lbs.
  • Use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus, as well as good eye‑hand coordination.
  • Must be able to rotate shifts and be available to work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary.
