Base pay range

$26.00/yr - $36.00/yr

Job Responsibilities: Operates Folder/Gluer Machine to develop end-result printed packaging material in accordance with customer specifications:

  • Operate and adjust gluer machine, troubleshoot and monitor operation.
  • Prepares gluer by performing a variety of tasks to produce a consistent, high quality product
  • by precise control of feeding, take over and inverting of batches of blanks, setting automatic
  • loading and constant blank heights maintaining steady and precise feeding at all speeds making adjustments as needed to exceed customer expectation.
  • By performing a variety of make ready tasks utilizing quick and easy settings for high productivity and precision operations, resolves any defects and adjustments to produce high quality product.
  • Oversee General technicians working on equipment.
  • Make adjustments, clear jams, while processing product, maintaining speed and quality.
QUALITY:
  • Ensure quality of jobs completed by reviewing for quality and accuracy. Makes sure jobs are complete and error free.
  • Ensures finished product exceeds customer expectations.
  • Ensure all checklists are completed.
  • Support and communicate all ISO standards and quality objectives to the Team.
OHSE AND CLEAN:
  • Ensures complete adherence and compliance to the OHSE and Clean policies.
  • Assists team members in maintaining clean and safe environment.
  • Maintains and follows all company policies and procedures for safety, PPE and hazard materials/waste handling according to established guidelines.
  • Follows all PPE procedures at all times.
  • Follows established procedures and guidelines for the handling and disposal of all hazardous materials/waste.
  • Maintains and wears proper uniform according to company policy.
  • Use Company provided safety lifting equipment.
  • Properly stores and arranges work area to maintain cleanliness and safe environment following all safety rules and regulations for grounding, storage, spill clean-up, etc.

Key Requirements:
  • Prior experience with folding cartons within the food packaging industry.
  • High School diploma (or GED).
  • Minimum of 3 years of Folder/Gluer equipment operation within the food packaging industry.
  • Must have interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and mathematical skills necessary to compute percentages, weights and measures.
  • Capable of running straight line, auto-bottom, 4 and 6 corner cartons.
Physical Demands:
  • This position requires prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending and/or reaching,
  • balancing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing and speaking.
  • Frequent lifting in excess of 30 lbs is required.
  • Must be able to hold, touch, feel and manipulate with hands product and equipment in a safe manner. Manual dexterity is required.
  • Use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability
  • to adjust focus as well as good eye-hand coordination.
  • Must be able to rotate shifts and be available to work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary to meet customer product needs.
