Job summary

CGS is seeking a FOIA Analyst to join our Information Technology team supporting a federal agency. You will process FOIA requests, prepare correspondence, and coordinate with requesters, FOIA staff, and contractors to facilitate releases.

Ideal candidates bring six years of FOIA experience, knowledge of exemptions b(4), b(5), and b(6), and the ability to work independently while obtaining a security clearance. CGS offers a comprehensive benefits package and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of FOIA processing experience.
• Knowledge of FOIA exemptions b(4), b(5), and b(6).
• Experience redacting trade secrets and confidential commercial information.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and analyze new and backlogged FOIA requests.
• Intake incoming requests and prepare FOIA folders.
• Enter request data in FOIA tracking database.
• Draft FOIA response letters and correspondence.
• Communicate and negotiate with requesters, FOIA staff, sponsors, and contractors.
• Coordinate searches for responsive documents and identify duplicates.
• Review records for responsiveness and release determinations.
• Ensure released materials comply with exemptions.
