Job summary

The City of Renton is seeking a skilled engineering professional to serve as a FOG Inspector in the Wastewater Utility Engineering Division. This role administers the City’s FOG Source Control Program through on-site inspections of commercial food facilities and by reviewing grease interceptor plans to ensure compliance and proper disposal practices.

The candidate will educate business owners and kitchen staff on best practices, maintain compliance data in the City’s GIS and tracking systems,

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting commercial food facilities for FOG sources.
• Ability to review grease interceptor plans.
• Strong interpersonal skills to educate business owners and kitchen staff.
• Knowledge of City wastewater infrastructure and regulations.
• Experience maintaining compliance data in GIS and tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site field inspections of commercial food facilities for FOG Source Control program.
• Review grease interceptor plans and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Educate business owners and kitchen staff on grease handling and pretreatment best practices.
• Maintain compliance data in GIS and tracking systems for reporting and auditing.
