Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Enrolled in Radiologic Technology program with at least two clinical semesters completed.
• Current BLS certification for health care providers is required.
• Must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Position patients and adjust immobilization devices for imaging procedures.
• Set exposure factors based on patient height, weight and area to be imaged.
• Operate imaging equipment and protect patients with radiation safety practices.
• Prepare images for reading by radiologists or physicians.
• Maintain records and ensure QA/QC as required by policy and HIPAA.

Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Enrolled in an Accredited Program of Radiologic Technology, and a minimum of two semesters of clinical rotation completed

Current BLS certification for health care providers

Criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen
