Job summary

Great Plains Tribal Health in Rapid City, SD seeks a Limited Scope Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging procedures and support diagnosis for OHC patients.

You will position patients, set exposure factors, ensure image quality, and assist radiologists while maintaining QA/QC programs per ACR standards.

Required: high school diploma or GED, enrollment in an accredited radiologic technology program, current BLS, and passing background and drug screening.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program with clinical rotations completed.
• Current BLS certification for health care providers.
• Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
• Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views.
• Operate imaging equipment and determine exposure factors based on height, weight, and area of interest.
• Adjust equipment controls to ensure proper image detail, density, and quality.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
• Perform routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
• Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
• Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians.
• Establish and maintain QA/QC programs required by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
• Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
• Maintain effective interdepartmental and external relations.
• Comply with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
• Utilize required systems and technology to perform the job.
