Job summary

Magna Seating in Kentucky is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to the development and production of high-quality seating systems for the automotive industry.

In this role you will focus on TPM, continuous improvement, data analysis, and coordinating with maintenance and operations to ensure line readiness and compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree highly preferred or equivalent work experience and education.
  • Experience in foam manufacturing, chemical processing, automotive manufacturing, or a related production environment.
  • Experience with process control systems, HMIs, data collection, and quality systems.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and Project; create spreadsheets and databases; familiar with AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Verify startup readiness by confirming chemical inventories, HMI communication, equipment functionality, and line readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with process control plans, operating procedures, safety requirements, and 5S standards.
  • Develop and execute TPM action plans, support maintenance activities, and coordinate with Maintenance and Operations on equipment/process issues.
  • Analyze production data, lead density and scrap reduction initiatives, and drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions while providing leadership and direction to hourly team members as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards

Job Responsibilities
Education and/or Experience
  • Engineering degree highly preferred or combination of equivalent work experience and education
  • Experience in foam manufacturing, chemical processing, automotive manufacturing, or a related production environment.
  • Experience with process control systems, HMIs, data collection, and quality systems.
  • Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • A high level of analytical ability is required to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be proficient with computer software applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Create spreadsheets and databases and be familiar with AutoCAD
