Job summary

Magna Seating is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead teams on the shop floor in our Wisconsin facility. You will plan, assign, and direct daily activities, monitor production, and drive improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of production supervisory experience (or five years of team leadership in automotive manufacturing), JIT manufacturing exposure, and training in problem-solving methods.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of production supervisory experience or a minimum of five (5) years of team leadership experience in an automotive manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Formal training on problem solving methodologies preferred (i.e., 5-why analysis, 8-D, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Team Leader(s) and Production Team Associates including but not limited to planning, assigning, directing and coordinating their day-to-day activities.
  • Assists the Production Manager in determining and managing appropriate manpower requirements.
  • Trains new and transferred employees on their job duties and responsibilities and cross trains as necessary.
  • Ensures employees are consistently adhering to standardized work processes and rotation schedules.
  • Tracks and reports daily production; and drives improvements where necessary.
  • Works to improve first run capabilities by identifying repeat offender(s) and developing corrective action.
  • Participates and leads process improvement projects: productivity, quality, ergonomics, etc.
  • Monitors, maintains and records employees’ time related to the Attendance and Time-Off Policies (e.g. vacation, medical day, bereavement, jury duty, etc). Records approved time-off requests in timekeeping system; and ensures required time-off requests with supporting documentation are processed completely and timely.
  • Provides timely feedback on work performance including but not limited to safety, housekeeping, quality, accuracy, quantity, attendance, punctuality, job knowledge, adaptability, initiative, teamwork, communication, judgment and comprehension.
  • Supports and enforces the principles of the Employee Charter, Company goals and objectives, and decisions and policies by taking ownership and communicating these in a positive and supportive manner

Who we are looking for

Education/Certification/Licensure** :**

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor or Associate degree in related field preferred

  • Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, including participation in kaizen events.
