Job summary

Pelican Products in South Deerfield, MA is seeking a Foam Assembler for the 2nd shift to manufacture custom foam inserts, assemble components, and inspect quality in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

This hands-on role combines fabrication, machine operation, and process documentation. The team values safety, quality, and teamwork, with opportunities for growth and skill development in foam fabrication.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or production experience.
• Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure.
• Ability to read and follow drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Experience with fabrication equipment, cutting tools or manufacturing machinery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow part drawings, Bills of Materials, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
• Layout, assemble, and construct foam sub-components and inserts for new and repeat customer requirements.
• Maximize material utilization while supporting efficient production processes.
• Operate fabrication equipment including vertical, horizontal, and profile saws, die cutting presses, glue applicators, and Water Jet equipment.
• Select materials and cut foam stock to required dimensions and tolerances.
• Access production files and operate Water Jet equipment to produce precision foam components.
• Adjust machine settings and operating parameters based on foam specs and production requirements.
• Inspect foam components and completed assemblies to ensure quality standards.
• Perform gluing and lamination operations to assemble finished foam products.
• Identify and communicate equipment, material, or program issues to leadership as needed.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Follow company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
• Actively support Pelican's Safety, Environment and Quality commitments.
