Job summary

TTX Company is seeking a hands-on FMO Supervisor to lead railcar inspection and repair operations at our Field Maintenance Operation site in New Jersey. You will champion safety, drive performance, and build a high-performing team in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.

You’ll oversee daily activities, train and mentor staff, manage labor and costs, and coordinate with host railroads and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of railcar repair or mechanical operations experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Knowledge of AAR and FRA standards is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead teams, drive performance, and prioritize safety.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.

What We’re Looking For

• Associate’s (AA) or Bachelor’s (BA) degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or a combination of strong mechanical expertise and prior railroad experience
• 1–3 years of experience in railcar repair, mechanical operations, or a related field, with leadership or supervisory responsibilities
• Knowledge of AAR and FRA standards is a plus
• Proven ability to lead teams, drive performance, and prioritize safety
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Both general office environment with moderate noise level, and occasional outdoor environment with infrequent high noise level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit (remain stationary within work area) and use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach. The employee is occasionally required to move about (stand, walk). The employee must occasionally lift and/or transport up to 10 pounds and infrequently lift/transport over 25 pounds. Correctable vision required for close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception vision capabilities, and ability to adjust focus.

Work schedules may vary depending on operational demands. Candidates must be comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
