Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Quality Control Technician for an on-site role at a FMCG production facility in Welkom. The ideal candidate will perform routine QC tests on materials and products, document results, and collaborate with QA teams to uphold GMP standards.

The position requires 1–2 years in QC/QA within FMCG, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate lab equipment. Shifts may be required to align with production schedules.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance in FMCG manufacturing.
• Knowledge of quality control testing methods and equipment.
• Understanding of GMP, HACCP or other QMS is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
• Basic laboratory skills and experience with analytical instruments.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to work shifts in Welkom.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine quality control tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products according to established procedures.
• Inspect products and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements for FMCG products.
• Document test results accurately and maintain detailed records of quality control activities.
• Identify and report non-conforming products or deviations to the Quality Assurance Manager.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment used for quality control testing.
• Assist in investigating quality issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure adherence to GMP and other relevant quality management systems.
• Monitor production processes to ensure consistent product quality and identify potential risks.
• Participate in internal quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.

Education

National Diploma or Degree in Food Technology, Chemical Technology, Microbiology, or related scientific field
