Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to manage sourcing and purchasing for FMCG operations in Upington, Northern Cape. You will identify suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and maintain strong supplier relationships to support production efficiency.

Ideal candidates will have strong procurement knowledge, ERP experience, and a track record of delivering value through strategic sourcing and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar purchasing role, preferably within FMCG.
• Strong understanding of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, and contract negotiation.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective supplier management.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all transactions.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, packaging, and other supplies in accordance with company standards and budget.
• Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers, assessing their capabilities and reliability.
• Manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality specifications.
• Conduct market analysis to stay informed about pricing trends and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Process purchase orders, manage inventory levels, and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Collaborate with internal departments, such as production and finance, to forecast needs and optimize procurement strategies.
