In-N-Out Burger’s performance automotive team in Franklin, Tennessee seeks a full-time Performance Mechanic to work on drag racing vehicles and classic restorations, ensuring safety, reliability and top performance. The role involves workshop duties and travel to race events.

The position requires at least five years of automotive repair and diagnostic experience, with preference for high-performance/drag racing backgrounds, diesel repair and engine assembly skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of automotive repair and diagnostic experience.
• Knowledge of high-performance drag racing vehicles preferred.
• Experience maintaining or restoring classic cars preferred.
• Diesel repair experience preferred.
• Performance-engine assembly experience preferred.
• Welding and fabrication experience would be an advantage.
• Strong mechanical ability and attention to detail.
• Able to work effectively as part of a race team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect, maintain and repair drag racing vehicles.
• Provide trackside setup, maintenance and troubleshooting support.
• Maintain, repair and restore classic and performance vehicles.
• Assist with performance-engine assembly and related mechanical work.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers and support equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, brake, suspension and drivetrain systems.
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment, inventory and an organised work environment.
• Document completed work and communicate project progress.

The Flying Dutchman Race Team Performance Mechanic is a full-time position with In-N-Out Burger’s performance automotive team in Franklin, Tennessee. The role supports the team’s drag racing activities alongside classic-car restoration, performance‑engine assembly, diesel‑equipment maintenance and general workshop operations. The successful applicant will help ensure the team’s vehicles and equipment are maintained to high standards of safety, reliability and performance. Work takes place in the workshop and at race events.

Key Responsibilities

Work Schedule and Travel

• This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position based in Franklin, Tennessee
• Evening and weekend work may be required
• Travel is required when scheduled race activities demand it
• Applicants must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Work may take place in workshop and outdoor conditions
• The role requires standing, kneeling, bending and working beneath vehicles
