Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Flycut Operator for a leading optics and photonics manufacturer in Saxonburg, PA. You will operate diamond turning flycut machines to produce precision laser optics and optical components, performing cutting, polishing, and finishing operations.

You will run and monitor up to two machines, measure part dimensions with metrology equipment, and document production and quality data in a clean, safety‑minded environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate diamond turning flycut machines to manufacture precision optical components.
• Perform cutting, polishing, and finishing operations on laser optics components.
• Run and monitor up to two machines simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.
• Measure and verify part dimensions, surface finish, and optical specifications using metrology equipment.
• Handle sensitive optical components with care to prevent damage.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Work closely with trainers and team members during onboarding and skill development.
• Support machine setups and basic troubleshooting activities.
• Perform inspections in a low-light environment when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow all EHS, PPE, and quality procedures.

This candidate will support the production of highly precise laser optics and optical components using specialized flycut machining equipment in a clean manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a mechanically inclined individual with manufacturing experience who can multitask, maintain strong attention to detail, and thrive in a quality-focused environment. Training is provided, with new hires typically partnered with a trainer for approximately three months before operating independently. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to grow within a highly technical manufacturing environment where attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are valued as much as prior technical experience.
