Job summary

Kaleidoscope, an Infosys Company, is seeking a Fly-By-Wire & Secondary Control System Engineer in Wichita, Kansas. You will lead integration and certification activities for FBW and secondary flight control systems, interfacing with suppliers and verification teams to ensure compliance with airworthiness standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s in mechanical or aerospace engineering, at least seven years in aerospace, experience with certification processes (Part 25), and hands-on work with

Responsibilities

• Integrate FBW & Secondary Flight Controls systems on the aircraft.
• Support design concepts, approaches, and philosophy with flight control suppliers.
• Develop, validate and verify technical requirements of the flight control system.
• Review and prepare test procedures and test reports for certification activities.
• Perform/execute tests on rigs or aircraft and analyze results.
• Resolve in-service issues and perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Job Title: Fly-By-Wire & Secondary Control System Engineer

Job Location: Wichita, KS

What are your contributions to the team?

• Perform the integration of the FBW & Secondary Flight Controls system on the aircraft.
• Support the development of concepts, design approach and philosophy with the Flight Control system supplier.
• Perform/Review analysis to evaluate concepts feasibility.
• Develop, validate and verify technical requirements of the Flight Control System.
• Review/Prepare technical requirements
• Review/Prepare test procedures
• Execute test rig and/or aircraft testing
• Review/Prepare test reports in support of certification activities
• Resolve problems arising from in-service aircraft.
• Troubleshooting, root cause determination, corrective action definition and execution
• Ensure compliance to the ARP4754 development process.
• Support trade o???? studies and life cycle cost analysis for future programs.
• Ensure the design process and the resulting equipment implementation is in line with Customer requirements and standards.

Occasional trips to the Suppliers facilities and Regulatory Authorities, as well as on-site support to the Final Assembly Line.

How to thrive in this role?

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in aerospace related field.
• You have been directly involved in the definition and certification of at least one FBW and/or Secondary Flight Control system.
• You possess a good understanding of all facets of system definition, integration, and certification and have a knowledge of aircraft systems and interfaces (e.g., electrical, hydraulic, avionics, autoflight).
• You have knowledge of Part 25 certification process.
• You have experience in modeling and dynamic simulation of flight controls electrical and hydraulic actuators is an asset.
• You have a working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow simulation environment.
• You have some familiarity with other simulation environments such as ADAMS, or design tools such as CATIA would be an asset.
• You have good knowledge of MS O????ice and Requirements Management tools is an asset.
• You are fluent in both English and French.
• You have the ability to work with limited supervision, be organized, a team player, and a self-motivated person, be Customer focused, and be able to work under pressure.
• You must also show initiative, innovation, a strong sense of responsibility and integrity, adaptability, have good interpersonal communication skills, have a good engineering judgement, and drive for results.
