Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial seeks a Senior Engineering Specialist – Fly-By-Wire & Secondary Flight Control Systems to lead integration and sustainment efforts for advanced aircraft programs. Responsibilities include defining requirements, conducting feasibility studies, test procedures, and documentation, plus supporting ARP4754 processes and lifecycle cost analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in the aerospace industry.
• Direct involvement in Fly-By-Wire and/or Secondary Flight Control System certification.
• Knowledge of system definition, integration, and certification processes.
• Understanding of aircraft interfaces including electrical, hydraulic, avionics, and auto-flight systems.
• Fluent in English and French.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the integration of FBW and Secondary Flight Control Systems on aircraft platforms
• Support development of concepts, design philosophies, and system architecture with suppliers
• Perform and review feasibility studies, technical analyses, and trade-off evaluations
• Develop, validate, and verify technical requirements for flight control systems
• Prepare and review system requirements, test procedures, and technical documentation

• Review and prepare certification reports and compliance documentation
• Troubleshoot in-service aircraft issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with ARP4754 development processes and aviation standards
• Support lifecycle cost analysis and future aircraft development initiatives
• Coordinate with suppliers, regulatory authorities, final assembly lines, completion centers, and flight test teams
• Travel occasionally to support operations in Montreal, Toronto, Wichita, and supplier locations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the aerospace industry
• Direct involvement in the definition and certification of at least one Fly-By-Wire and/or Secondary Flight Control System
• Strong knowledge of system definition, integration, and certification processes
• Understanding of aircraft interfaces including electrical, hydraulic, avionics, and auto-flight systems
• Knowledge of Part 25 certification processes
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments
• Fluent in English and French

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in modeling and dynamic simulation of electrical and hydraulic flight control actuators
• Working knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
• Familiarity with ADAMS, CATIA, or related engineering design tools
• Experience with requirements management tools
• Strong MS Office skills
• Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and customer-focused mindset

Pay Details:

$81.46 to $117.26 per hour
