Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Fluids Systems Engineer for the Solar Cell Factory (STARLINK) to design, build, and optimize fluid delivery systems for gases and chemicals used in solar cell fabrication. The role requires a detail-oriented engineer with experience in hazardous material handling within high-volume manufacturing.

You will own projects end-to-end from concept to commissioning, work with cross-functional teams, and ensure systems meet safety and regulatory standards while supporting high-yield

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, aerospace engineering or related field.
• 1+ years of hands-on build or design experience (internship, club, and competition team experience qualifies).
• Experience with safety protocols for hazardous materials and process safety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and activate fluids systems for distribution of gases, chemicals, and exhaust in solar cell processes.
• Cradle-to-grave ownership including design justification, procurement, build, and commissioning.
• Design modular systems scalable for future solar production facilities.
• Apply fluid/mechanical engineering skills for sizing, analysis, and CONOP development.
• Perform safety assessments (FMEAs, HAZOPs) and ensure compliant hazardous material handling.
