Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Fluids Systems Engineer for the Solar Cell Factory (Starlink) in Texas. You will design, build, and optimize fluid systems delivering gases, chemicals, and exhaust for solar cell processes, prioritizing safe handling of hazardous materials in a high-volume environment.

Work closely with process engineers, facilities, and EHS to ensure reliability, purity, and efficient delivery, while meeting OSHA, EPA, ASME, SEMI standards and pursuing continuous improvement in fluid reuse

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of hands-on build or design experience (internship, club, and competition team experience qualifies).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and activate fluids systems for the distribution of key gases, chemicals, and exhaust systems used in solar cell processes.
• Cradle-to-grave project ownership from requirement definition to commissioning and project management.
• Design modular systems scalable for future solar production facilities.
• Apply P&ID, equipment sizing, fluid/thermal analysis, and system CONOP development.
• Perform safety/hazard assessments (FMEAs, HAZOPs) to ensure compliant hazardous system design.
• Design, build, and deploy data acquisition and control systems for fluid facilities control.
• Collaborate with process engineers to optimize delivery rates, purity, and recycling of process fluids.
