Job summary

ExxonMobil in Spring, TX is seeking a Fluid Properties Technologist to advance analytical testing of lubricants. You will prepare samples, run experiments, and analyze results to support product development.

You will apply ASTM/ISO standards, work with cross‑functional teams, maintain thorough records, and ensure safety and quality in a fast‑paced environment. The role requires a B.S. and hands‑on lubricant testing experience with strong data analysis and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• Hands‑on experience with lubricant formulation and testing such as foams, emulsion, viscosity, thermal, HFRR, MTM, and EHL.
• Familiarity with high‑throughput experimentation techniques and automated systems.
• Knowledge of various research principles and testing methods.
• Familiarity with ASTM and ISO Standards.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and blend samples according to project requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Support the setup and execution of experiments to evaluate fluid properties.
• Utilize available tools and systems to ensure efficient workflows.
• Perform measurements of relevant physical and chemical characteristics.
• Analyze experimental data and summarize findings for project teams.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support development activities.
• Prepare documentation and share results with stakeholders as needed.
• Follow established safety guidelines and maintain a clean, compliant work environment.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and procedures meet quality standards.
