Job summary

Scot Forge is seeking a Fluid Power Engineer to design, develop and improve hydraulic and mechanical systems for our manufacturing operations. You will work on new equipment and upgrades to existing assets to boost reliability, safety and performance in a 100% employee-owned environment.

In this role you will create hydraulic schematics, 3D CAD models, and drawings, while collaborating with Operations, Maintenance and external vendors to implement solutions across heavy industrial equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design hydraulic and mechanical systems for manufacturing equipment and facility operations.
• Define equipment requirements, specifications, and performance criteria for new and existing machinery.
• Develop hydraulic schematics, control logic, and fluid power circuits.
• Create SolidWorks models, assemblies, layouts, and engineering drawings.
• Support equipment troubleshooting, reliability improvements, and root cause analysis.
• Research and implement new technologies, processes, and equipment solutions; support machine control programming and system integration activities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and external vendors on equipment improvement projects.
