Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. in Minnesota seeks a Production Operator to ensure safe handling of incoming liquid ingredients and operate dairy processing equipment with precision.

You will follow GMP, HACCP and MSS guidelines, perform CIP cleaning, document data, and collaborate with QA and maintenance teams to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in food manufacturing or UHT processing preferred.
• Forklift experience; certification may be required.
• GMP, food safety, chemical safety and industrial safety knowledge.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to troubleshoot routine processing and equipment issues.
• Basic math skills for production and quality data recording.
• Strong written communication and teamwork with coworkers, QA, and maintenance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and long shifts.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and correct handling of all incoming liquid ingredients.
• Adhere to GMP, HACCP, and MSS standards and procedures.
• Receive and document incoming liquid ingredients; weigh tankers.
• Operate yard dog tractor to move tankers in the plant.
• Perform CIP on tanks, silos, lines and tankers; report maintenance issues.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and complete paperwork accurately.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter

• Ensure safe and correct handling of all incoming liquid ingredients.
• Adhere to Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities by following all safety rules, regulations, procedures, and requirements.
• Comply with all GMP, HACCP, and MSS standards and procedures.
• Complete MSS tasks on a weekly basis.
• Promptly report all industrial or food safety concerns.
• Complete all paperwork, charts, and documentation accurately, legibly, and timely.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices and ensure work areas remain clean and orderly.
• Receive and document all incoming liquid ingredients.
• Operator the yard dog tractor to move tankers in and around the plant.
• Perform CIP (Clean in Place) on tanks, silos, receiving lines, load out lines, and tankers.
• Ensure all incoming and outgoing tankers are weighed correctly.
• Report maintenance issues via maintenance request forms or immediate page notifications.
• Keep the supervisor informed regarding deviations from planned production, operational disruptions, and equipment downtime.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management or supervisors.

You Are Best Suited for The Role If You..

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing or UHT processing strongly preferred.
• Forklift experience is helpful; certification may be required.
• Strong knowledge of GMPs, food safety principles, chemical safety, and general industrial safety.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to troubleshoot routine processing and equipment issues using basic mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to perform basic math: addition, subtraction, counting, and data recording for production and quality information.
• Must be able to complete written correspondence, fill out forms, charts, graphs, and digital entries accurately.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with coworkers, supervisors, QA, and maintenance personnel.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain focus during long shifts.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, lift moderate weights, and work in hot or cold environments as required.
• Must be able to occasionally lift to 50 pounds.
