Job summary

Amsted Automotive’s TransForm Automotive division in Shelby Township is seeking a Flowform Specialist for the third shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM with a 15% shift premium). The role requires adapting lean manufacturing principles, performing maintenance, and advancing CNC programs to maintain dimensional accuracy.

The candidate will read blueprints, interpret inspection reports, and troubleshoot flowform processes while supporting safety and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Experience in fast paced automotive manufacturing.
• CNC program modifications and tooling improvements.
• Ability to interpret CMM or gaging information and adjust CNC programs.
• Excellent communication skills for interactions with the workforce.
• Physical stamina for long shifts; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Adapt and promote lean manufacturing principles.
• Participate in Elimination of Waste Team Meetings.
• Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tag out and electrical safe work practices.
• Maintain and document preventive maintenance and downtime records.
• Perform PM tasks, corrective actions, and improvements to assigned equipment.
• Troubleshoot flowform operations and read blueprints & inspection reports.
• Read part programming and understand process flow.

About The Role

Amsted Automotive's TransForm Automotive division in Shelby Twp, is seeking a Flowform Specialist for our third shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM + 15% shift premium).

Shift Times

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (15% shift premium)
• Midnight Shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM (15% shift premium)

What You’ll Do

• Adapt and promote lean manufacturing principals
• Active participant in Elimination of Waste Team Meetings
• Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tag out and electrical safe work practices
• Required to follow all maintenance systems and proper documentation procedures as outlined in the work instructions, including preventative maintenance procedures, downtime recording procedure, work order procedures
• Responsible for PM tasks, corrective actions, and improvements to assigned equipment. PM’s (preventative) PD (Predictive)
• Knowledge of all operations and repairs
• Advance troubleshooting of flowform operations
• Troubleshooting dimensional issue
• Knowledge to repair and modify CNC Programs to maintain dimensional requirements
• Apply a continuous improvement mindset to CNC Machining Process
• Able to read and understand blueprints
• Able to read and understand inspection reports
• Understanding of machine functions
• Understanding of process flow
• Understanding of part programming
• Basic knowledge on programming new parts
• Process of elimination
• Reports directly to the Tooling Supervisor
• Other duties as required by the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor
• May receive direction from other Supervisors, Managers, and Team Leads as necessary

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• Experience in fast paced, automotive manufacturing environment
• Including CNC program modifications and tooling improvements
• Usage of a computer, printer, calculator, and machinery control panels
• Must be able to interpret C.M.M. or gaging information and adjust CNC Programs and mechanical attributes within a FlowForm
• Excellent communication skills are needed of interaction with the workforce
• Work may require extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping and performing repetitive motion tasks
• Usage of a computer and other productivity machinery control panels
• Excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
• Must be able to work necessary overtime if required
