Job description

About Honey Green

MAKE SOMETHING WORTH STANDING BEHIND.

Honey Green is a Missouri cannabis cultivation and manufacturing company based in Joplin. From the first plant we care for to the finished products that reach the market, a lot of hands, skills, and decisions shape what carries the Honey Green name.

The work looks different depending on the role, but the standard is the same: do work you are proud to stand behind.

We care deeply about the work and keep the way we work straightforward. We want team members who care about what they do, pay attention to the details, speak up when something does not look right, help the people around them succeed, and keep getting better at their craft.

Quality. Consistency. Accountability. Curiosity. Teamwork. Problem-solving.

Do the work right. Make the next person's job easier. Leave it better than you found it.

What You'll Do Here

This is where cured flower starts taking its finished form. You will work hands-on with trimming, sorting, grading, weighing, cleaning, and careful material handling while learning what acceptable flower quality looks like and how to protect it through the finishing process.

Be Proud of What Leaves Your Hands

Every tray, bin, and piece of flower you handle becomes someone else's starting point. Treat the product with care and leave the next person something worth working with.

Position Overview

The Flower Processing & QC Support I supports Honey Green's Flower Processing & QC function. Learns standardized work and completes assigned tasks with regular direction and verification. Flower Processing & QC's primary responsibility is the controlled inspection, finishing, sorting, grading, and handoff of cured cannabis after Cultivation completes hanging, bucking, and curing. The team may also support Packaging when trained and assigned.

Core Responsibilities
Operations & Technical Execution
  • Receive cured cannabis material from Cultivation and verify lot/batch identity, transfer documentation, weights, and condition before beginning assigned finishing work.
  • Perform assigned flower-processing and QC activities such as hand or machine trimming, sorting, grading, visual inspection, weighing, staging, and controlled material movement in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Inspect flower for visible quality concerns, foreign material, damage, moisture-related concerns, inconsistent trim/finish, or other deviations; segregate or elevate material before it advances when required.
  • Complete required production, quality, weight, yield, waste, and inventory/track-and-trace records accurately and in real time.
  • Clean and sanitize tools, bins, workstations, scales, trimming equipment, and shared areas according to sanitation and changeover requirements.
  • Support Packaging activities when trained and assigned, while maintaining the primary Flower Processing & QC focus on operational quality control and flower finishing.
  • Complete assigned tasks using approved methods and seek clarification when instructions, quality criteria, or documentation requirements are unclear.
  • Build proficiency in required tools, equipment, sanitation practices, records, and material-handling expectations through structured training and coaching.
Level-Specific Scope & Accountability
  • Perform basic hand-finishing, sorting, staging, weighing, cleanup, and material-handling tasks after training and under established work instructions.
  • Learn Honey Green flower-quality standards, including acceptable trim/finish, visible contamination or foreign-material indicators, product damage, and conditions requiring immediate escalation.
  • Maintain lot/batch separation and accurately match product, labels, containers, and work records before material is moved to the next step.
  • Assist with daily room setup, tool preparation, end-of-shift counts, and sanitation so work areas are ready for the next team member or process.
Safety, Compliance & Reliability
  • Maintain reliable and punctual attendance; report ready to work for the scheduled shift and follow established scheduling, break, call-off, and timekeeping expectations.
  • Wear, inspect, and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow task-specific safety procedures, equipment safeguards, ergonomic practices, emergency procedures, and required training.
  • Follow approved SOPs, work instructions, quality standards, facility security requirements, cannabis regulations, and required inventory or track-and-trace documentation applicable to assigned work.
  • Maintain sanitation, housekeeping, hygiene, and cross-contamination controls appropriate to the work area and protect products, equipment, data, and controlled-access spaces from preventable contamination, damage, or loss.
  • Promptly report injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, product-quality issues, documentation errors, inventory discrepancies, security concerns, and potential compliance deviations through the appropriate escalation path.
Working Conditions
  • Work is primarily performed in controlled flower-processing and QC areas where temperature and humidity are managed for product quality; team members may also move through warehouse areas with seasonal temperature fluctuation.
  • Frequent exposure to cured cannabis flower, plant particulate, strong cannabis odors, cleaning and sanitation products, and production equipment is expected.
  • Moderate equipment and ventilation noise may be present from trimmers, scales, vacuums, conveyors, and other finishing equipment; hearing or respiratory protection may be required for designated tasks.
  • Flower Processing & QC and Packaging remain separate workgroups but routinely cross-support one another when team members are trained and assigned to do so.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, sit, bend, crouch, kneel, twist, and reach for extended periods depending on assignment.
  • Perform frequent repetitive ...
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, including bins, totes, product, supplies, and equipment components; use team or mechanical assistance when appropriate.
  • Read labels, scales, screens, batch or lot identifiers, and visual quality indicators accurately and maintain attention to detail during repetitive work.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 21 years of age or older and able to obtain and maintain any Missouri cannabis facility credential required for the position.
  • Ability to understand and follow written SOPs, work instructions, safety requirements, sanitation practices, and documentation standards.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, work effectively with others, and raise questions or concerns promptly when work, safety, quality, or compliance is unclear.
  • Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and ability to perform repetitive hands-on work at a consistent pace.
  • No prior cannabis or industry-specific experience is required; willingness and ability to learn flower processing, operational quality checks, material handling, sanitation, and production documentation are required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in cannabis flower, agriculture/horticulture, food or agricultural processing, packaging, manufacturing, quality, or another hands-on production environment is helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with scales, trimming or sorting work, sanitation, basic quality checks, or production records is helpful but may be learned on the job.
