Job summary

Green Gold Group is seeking a Flower Team Lead to implement pest prevention and control programs, support flowering-stage plant maintenance, and supervise compliant plant-waste handling within the cultivation department.

This role leads daily flower production activities, including pruning, canopy management, METRC plant identification, and safe, documented plant destruction, working with cultivation management to uphold SOPs.

Job description

Green Gold Group is seeking a Flower Team Lead to implement pest prevention and control programs, support flowering-stage plant maintenance, and help supervise compliant plant-waste handling within the cultivation department.

This position leads daily flower production activities which include pruning, canopy management, METRC plant identification, and safe, documented plant destruction. The Flower Team Lead works with cultivation management and other department leads to maintain plant health, operational efficiency, and adherence to company SOPs.

Flowering Cultivation

• Coordinate and perform flowering-stage plant maintenance, including pruning, defoliation and removal of dead or damaged plant material.
• Perform and supervise plant training techniques, including super cropping, branch positioning, trellising, and canopy management.
• Maintain an even canopy to support consistent plant development and light distribution.
• Inspect flowering plants for pest and disease pressure, plant stress, damaged branches, and other abnormalities.
• Realign, secure, and verify METRC plant tags to ensure proper plant identification and traceability.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

• Implement existing IPM programs to prevent and control pest infestations.
• Explore new protocols for pest management and help develop new strategies.
• Conduct regular inspections of plants and grow areas to identify pest and disease issues.
• Implement environmental, biological, and chemical control measures as needed.
• Train and supervise IPM team members, ensuring all protocols and procedures are followed.
• Keep detailed records of pest and disease activity, treatments, and outcomes.
• Ensure strict adherence to state and local regulations regarding cannabis cultivation.
• Coordinate with cultivation management to ensure flowering-room maintenance tasks are completed according to production schedules.
• Maintain proper sanitation of cultivation tools, equipment, and work areas to minimize contamination and pest transmission.

Plant Shredding & Cannabis Waste Disposal

• Supervise and assist with the collection, handling, and shredding of discarded cannabis plants and plant material.
• Follow approved procedures for grinding, shredding, and mixing cannabis waste with appropriate non-cannabis materials when required.
• Ensure plant destruction and waste disposal activities are properly documented in accordance with company SOPs and applicable CCC requirements.
• Coordinate accurate METRC entries for destroyed plants, waste tracking, and inventory reconciliation with authorized personnel.

Team Leadership & Department Coordination

• Train, supervise, and provide daily direction to Flower team members regarding pest management, flowering plant maintenance, and waste disposal.
• Assign and prioritize daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow and completion of department responsibilities.
• Monitor team performance and ensure employees follow established cultivation SOPs and safety procedures.
• Communicate plant health concerns, pest infestations, and operational issues to cultivation management.

Job Physical Requirements:

• Able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Able to bend, reach, twist, and squat.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.

Position Expectations:

The IPM Team Lead is responsible for coordinating daily IPM operations and assigned flowering cultivation activities while following established procedures and management direction.

Plant destruction, waste tracking, and METRC-related activities must be conducted by appropriately authorized personnel and documented in accordance with company SOPs and applicable Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission requirements.
