Qualifications

• A NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license (flow cytometry licenses allowed).
• A Bachelor's degree.
• Some experience in flow cytometry is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Motivation to constantly learn and develop skills in a sophisticated and demanding laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical duties in all laboratory sections as assigned.
• Review test orders and verify accuracy of specimens.
• Maintain digital files in a neat and accessible manner.
• Accurately maintain specimen identity from entry to release of results.
• Navigate laboratory information systems proficiently.
• Contribute to safety and cleanliness of the laboratory.
• Restock reagents and supplies as necessary.
• Ensure accuracy of tests by following SOPs.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Handle the laboratory environment per NY DOH, Joint Commission, OSHA and CLIA guidelines.
• Provide direction, training, and feedback on routine laboratory procedures.
