Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Flow/Bone Marrow Lab at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY. Under the supervision of the Laboratory Director, you will perform specialized testing, operate LIS systems and instrumentation, and support the section with education and training as needed.

Minimum education includes a Bachelor's degree with NYS licensure and multiple years of post-licensure experience; a Master's or PhD may elevate qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology with an advanced NYS certificate and 4 years (6 preferred) post-licensure experience.
• Master's degree in related field and 2 years post-licensure experience.
• PhD in related field and 1 year post-licensure experience or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized testing or functions within the laboratory section.
• Participates in operational oversight of a specialized area of the laboratory.
• Provides educational support and training within the laboratory section.
• Performs development and evaluation of new methods, products, and instrumentation.
• Performs duties of a Medical Technologist II.
• Data management tasks and other assigned projects.
