Job summary

The Flow Cytometry Resource at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities seeks a Flow Cytometry Specialist 2 to assist daily facility operations, QC and setup of cytometers, and data acquisition and analysis for customers. Responsibilities include instrument operation, data sorting, and quality control within a busy lab environment.

Minimum qualifications include a BS/BA and 2 years of related experience (or 6 years combined).

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree or equivalent with 2 years of experience or 6 years total required.
• Preferred: 0–2 years experience with flow cytometry instrumentation and with droplet-based, high-speed cell sorting instrumentation.
• Independent worker with good customer service and teamwork skills.
• Biomedical research lab experience; data analysis with flow cytometry software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily operation of flow cytometry facility including equipment monitoring and billing time.
• Inventory reagents and supplies used in the lab.
• Technical writing for instrument operation and data analysis.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and ensure safety with biohazardous samples.
• Operate flow cytometry analyzers and sorters for data acquisition and sorting.
