Job summary

NeoGenomics Laboratories is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for the Flow Cytometry department. The role supports 24/7 operations with multiple shift arrangements.

You will perform complex laboratory procedures, handle diverse specimens, and maintain meticulous records under supervision. Ideal candidates have relevant degrees and ASCP certification with state licenses where required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science with lab experience.
• 1+ years of high complexity testing experience.
• ASCP certification for the assigned specialty, where available.
• State licensure requirements: FL, CA, or TN as specified.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical laboratory tests proficiently under general supervision.
• Follows procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, reporting and maintains records.
• Maintains records that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Determines the acceptability of specimens for testing and prepares clinical specimens accordingly.
• Analyzes specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Reviews and releases test results and reports STATs or Critical results to the interpreting physician.
• Performs and documents Quality Control on reagents, equipment and assays; addresses QC failures with supervisor.
• Documents all corrective actions when test systems deviate from specifications.
• Prepares stock solutions, reagents and cocktails; tests and evaluates them per SOPs.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college or university

Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences with 1 year of lab experience

1+ years equivalent experience (high complexity testing) preferred

ASCP certification for the assigned specialty (as available)

FL: current state license to perform laboratory testing = Clinical Laboratory Technologist

CA: current state license to perform laboratory testing = Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist or Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist

TN: current state license to perform laboratory testing = Medical Laboratory Professional
