Job summary

NeoGenomics Laboratories seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for the Flow Cytometry department who wants to learn and grow. The role operates in a 24/7 environment with multiple shift arrangements possible.

The Technologist works under general supervision performing complex laboratory procedures on diverse specimens and maintains accurate records. A relevant degree and licensure are required for this position in Florida.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or a science degree with 1+ year laboratory experience.
• Certification: ASCP in the assigned specialty where available.
• Current state license to perform laboratory testing if required by the state (FL/CA/TN).

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical laboratory tests under general supervision with independent judgment.
• Follows SOPs for specimen handling, processing, reporting and records all testing on-site.
• Maintains records to ensure proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Determines specimen acceptability and prepares specimens for testing.
• Analyzes specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Reviews and reports test results including STATS or Critical results to interpreting physician as per SOP.
• Performs QC on reagents, equipment and assays and documents corrective actions for QC failures.
• Prepares stock solutions, reagents and cocktails as per SOPs and evaluates them.
