Job summary

Bayside Health, serving the Alfred Hospital site, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to work in the flowcytometry section of the haematology department. You will process specimens and contribute to accurate, timely reports in a collaborative team setting.

The role requires knowledge of flowcytometry, ability to operate independently, and adherence to lab procedures. Full-time or negotiable part-time options apply, with excellent staff benefits at the Alfred Health campus.

Qualifications

• Formal Education relevant to the position
• Sound knowledge of flowcytometry and its practical applications
• Ability to setup and perform flowcytometry on blood, tissue, bone marrow and fluids independently
• Ability to work within a team and demonstrate effective communication skills
• Good time management skills

Responsibilities

• Process specimens according to established laboratory procedures under supervision
• Work as part of a team to achieve high quality work and produce accurate and timely reports
• Day to day equipment maintenance and preparation of reagents
• Stocktaking if required
