Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Brentwood, TN team. Schedule: Tue–Sat, 9:00 am–5:30 pm. Determine specimen acceptability and perform routine to complex procedures following SOPs to ensure reliable patient results.

Qualifications include an associate degree in a chemical/biological science or Medical Technology, plus 3+ months lab testing experience or MLT. ASCP/AMT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 3+ months of clinical laboratory testing experience or MLT degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

Education

Associate degree (Chemical/Bio science)

MLT certification

ASCP/AMT certification preferred
