Job summary

Adesis Inc. is seeking a Research Scientist / Senior Research Scientist – Flow Chemistry to develop innovative flow chemistry solutions for OLED materials.

You will model, design, and synthesize organic and organometallic compounds, collaborating with chemists and engineers to optimize syntheses and molecular properties for OLED devices. The role emphasizes independent proposal and execution of experiments, scale-up process development, and staying current with flow chemistry literature.

Qualifications

• PhD in Organic Chemistry or relevant industry experience preferred.
• Experience in flow chemistry method development and batch-to-flow conversion.
• Synthesis and characterization of organic and/or organometallic compounds.
• Understanding of organic/organometallic reaction mechanisms.
• Knowledge of modern synthetic techniques and instrumentation (e.g., coupling methods, photochemistry, electrochemistry, C-H activation).
• Experience in organic and/or multi-step organic synthesis.
• Proficiency with data analytics tools, DOE, automated instruments, and analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, NMR, MS).
• Proficient with MS Office, ChemDraw, enotebook and LIMS.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Propose, direct, and perform experiments including flow methodology development and batch-to-flow conversions.
• Design, implement, and optimize continuous flow processes for scale-up.
• Collaborate with chemical engineers on reactor configurations, mixing, and heat/mass transfer.
• Develop quantitative understanding using Design of Experiments and kinetic models.
• Serve as a flow chemistry SME to support other functions.
• Stay current with flow chemistry literature and technologies.
• Design materials and study organic electronic material properties for OLED applications.
• Synthesize, purify, analyze, and characterize organic/organometallic compounds.
• Implement state-of-the-art synthetic methods to access novel compounds.
• Record experiments in electronic notebooks and maintain good lab practices.
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment and comply with safety policies.
• Be a responsible and collaborative lab citizen.
