Diversified Foods & Seasonings in Theodore, AL is hiring a Flour Production Associate – Machine Operator for the 1st shift. You will set up and operate packaging equipment, monitor quality, and document production data in a safe, GMP-compliant environment.

The role involves weighing, labeling checks, allergen controls, and coordination with blenders, packers, QA, and supervisors to keep production running smoothly. No relocation required.

Qualifications

• Basic math and reading skills required.
• Ability to follow production instructions and document accurately.
• Previous packaging machinery experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and food safety requirements or ability to learn.
• Able to distinguish colors and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor packaging equipment safely.
• Prepare equipment for production runs including film, ribbons, chub print and weighers.
• Enter production data and verify dates, batch numbers, labels, barcodes, and weights.
• Complete allergen, labeling and traceability checks.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments and minor troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with Blenders, Packers, QA, and supervisors to keep lines running.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area and follow GMP and food safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Machine Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating packaging machinery. The role includes setting up equipment, monitoring packaging quality, documenting production data, and ensuring compliance with food safety, HACCP, and GMP standards. The operator will support production of poultry batter and biscuit mixed chubs, working closely with blenders, packers, QA, and supervisors.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Set up, operate, and monitor packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare equipment for production runs, including film, printer ribbons, chub print, and check weighers.
• Enter production information and verify dates, batch numbers, labels, barcodes, and product weights for accuracy.
• Complete required allergen, labeling, and traceability checks.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments and basic troubleshooting to support production flow.
• Communicate with Blenders, Packers, QA, and supervisors to keep production running smoothly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area and follow GMP, HACCP, food safety, and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned .

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Basic math and intermediate reading skills.
• Ability to follow production instructions and complete required documentation accurately.
• Previous packaging machinery experience preferred.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn HACCP, GMP, and food safety requirements.
• Ability to distinguish colors and safely perform physical production duties.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb stairs or ladders.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and push or pull materials using appropriate equipment.
