Job summary

Diversified Foods & Seasonings (DFS) in Theodore, AL, is seeking a Flour Production Associate – Machine Operator on 1st shift. You will safely operate packaging machinery, set up equipment, monitor packaging quality, and document production data.

The role supports the production of poultry batter and biscuit mixed chubs, collaborating with blenders, packers, QA, and supervisors while upholding food safety standards (HACCP, GMP).

Qualifications

• Basic math and intermediate reading skills.
• Ability to follow production instructions and complete required documentation accurately.
• Previous packaging machinery experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety requirements.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical production duties.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull materials safely.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare equipment for production runs, including film, printer ribbons, chub print, and check weighers.
• Enter production information and verify dates, batch numbers, labels, barcodes, and weights for accuracy.
• Complete required allergen, labeling, and traceability checks.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments and basic troubleshooting to support production flow.
• Communicate with Blenders, Packers, QA, and supervisors to keep production running smoothly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area and follow GMP, HACCP, food safety, and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Machine Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating packaging machinery. The role includes setting up equipment, monitoring packaging quality, documenting production data, and ensuring compliance with food safety, HACCP, and GMP standards. The operator will support production of poultry batter and biscuit mixed chubs, working closely with blenders, packers, QA, and supervisors.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Prepare equipment for production runs, including film, printer ribbons, chub print, and check weighers.
• Enter production information and verify dates, batch numbers, labels, barcodes, and product weights for accuracy.
• Complete required allergen, labeling, and traceability checks.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments and basic troubleshooting to support production flow.
• Communicate with Blenders, Packers, QA, and supervisors to keep production running smoothly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area and follow GMP, HACCP, food safety, and safety requirements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Basic math and intermediate reading skills.
• Ability to follow production instructions and complete required documentation accurately.
• Previous packaging machinery experience preferred.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn HACCP, GMP, and food safety requirements.
• Ability to distinguish colors and safely perform physical production duties.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb stairs or ladders.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and push or pull materials using appropriate equipment.
