Flour Operations Technician - Packing - Avon Mill

As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for processing operations, mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting, sanitation, and participation in startup, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment, along with providing support to warehouse and packing operations.

Shift hours:

• 8-hour shifts
  • 2nd shift: 3 pm to 11 pm
  • 3rd shift: 11 pm to 7 am
• Currently hiring for 2nd shift and 3rd shift (dependent upon business need)
• Training will be on 1st shift (7 am to 3 pm) and then transfer to 2nd or 3rd shift
• Dependent upon business need, this position may require working 6 and/or 7 day workweeks. More information will be provided during the interview process.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, including 4 hours prior to or over scheduled shift (when needed)
• Plant operation is 24/7

Pay:

• $24.89 per hour
• Shift differential: Additional $.50 per hour for hours worked on 2nd and 3rd shifts
• Overtime pay: Time worked after 8 hours of work is paid at 1.5x rate; Saturday at 1.5x; Sunday at 2x rate

About our Location:

At Avon Mill, we produce 50 lb. bags of flour distributed to various clients, and Betty Crocker dry mix pouches. We have two product platforms: flour and dry mixes. Our plant produces an average of 1.1 million pounds of flour daily and about 100 million Betty Crocker pouches annually. Notably, around 2000 lbs of chocolate are added per hour to our cookie mix line!

Flour (25 and 50 lb bags) and Betty Crocker dry mix pouches (cookies, brownies, muffins, pizza crust, biscuits).

  • Leading flour bulk truck loadouts
  • Performing sanitation tasks
  • Managing inbound/outbound warehouse operations and inventory
  • Supporting various departments as needed
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Training new employees

What you have to offer:

• High school diploma or GED
• Mechanical or technical experience in manufacturing
• Forklift experience or certification
• Experience with warehouse operations and WMS (preferably SAP, Blue Yonder)
• Basic computer skills

Physical requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting
• Ability to work at heights and wear protective gear
• Adherence to grooming standards for food safety
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions
• Comfort working around high-speed machinery and allergens
